梅山猎神———梅山教主张五郎,民间有许多关于他的传说。分析、比较这些传说,可以看出:张五郎不是梅山本土的神祗,他是闾山(即庐山)巫教的神祗。据说,他原是中唐后期的北方人,曾在庐山拜九郎为师,善于捕杀老虎他的故事在福建江西广为流传。唐代末年,作为巫教神祗的张五郎,随着人口的自然流动,从江西传入梅山,成了梅山崇拜的猎神。

This article is an introduction to the hunting god Zhang Wulang.who is the main god worshiped in the Meishan ritual tradition.(meishan jiao).There are many myths about Zhang Wulang in southeast China.If one analyzes and compares these myths.one can see that Zhang Wulang is not a deity native to the Meishan region in Hunan,but rather is a shamanistic(wu jiao)deity of Lü Mountain(闾山) in Jiangxi(which is also known as Lu Mountain(庐山)).According to myth,Zhang Wulang was a northerner living in the mid-Tang dynasty.He studied the ritual arts from Jiulang and was very good at hunting tigeiTales about him spread throughout Jiangxi and Fuj ian.By the end of the Tangdynasty,he had become the shamanistic(WU 7iao)deity Zhang Wulang,Following migrations within the population,his cult spread to the Meishan regionin in Hunan,where he has become the hunting deity worshiped by the residents of that area.
